for the Train, Retain, Advance: Increasing Employment.
Strengthening Retention. Advancing Outcomes.
This publication summarizes the findings and best practices
from our Train the Trainer / Retention Strategies Forums conducted
at the 2009 and 2010 IAJVS Annual Conferences. We greatly
appreciate the generous funding from the Bank of America Foundation
that allows us to continue our annual Train the Trainer workshops.
We are pleased to
announce the U.S. Department of Labor has released a study
entitled
"Ready and Able: Addressing Labor Market Needs and Building
Productive Careers for People with Disabilities through Collaborative
Approaches." click here

national research study can be found on pages 33-45.

for Enhancing Employment Opportunities for Individuals
with Disabilities: An Employer-Directed Approach.
This toolkit is a compilation of information, resources, and
tools that can be used to implement or strengthen an "employer-directed
approach" to job training and placement for organizations
serving people with disabilities and the employers that hire
them. We are thankful to the Bank of America Foundation
for providing funding for the Train the Trainer professional
development program that allowed us to provide tools and information
necessary to help both the workforce development professionals
engaged with this population and their potential employers
increase the employment rate of those with disabilities.
To that end, this toolkit has been designed to serve as a
blueprint for both.
